Minutes of Meeting on Monday 13 November 2006:

Present: P Douglas, P Duncan, A Jarret, B Simpson, J Fairbairn, L Matthews, J Christie, F Roger, V Kilgour, L Ogilvie, R Pegden, L Roger

Matters arising
The work at Stravithie Bridge is now complete. However, two stones are still to be replaced at Kenlygreen bridge.

No news on the new noticeboard.

Plans for the holiday homes at Fairmont St Andrews are on hold until the plans for the old steading are resolved to Historic Scotland’s satisfaction. It was agreed that the CC should write to Steven Carter to thank him for his co-operation and wish him well in his new post.

Flooding at Cardean: the sand bags at the small gate into the doocot field are helping to divert the water in times of flood. The work to repair the drains is on the Council list of jobs to do but fairly near the foot.

The Secretary had received a reply regarding the state of the village streetlights, intimating that they were not due for revamping for some time. However, it was agreed that some were in a fairly bad state of repair.

The Reporter has allowed the appeal for the outline planning permission at Sunnybraes. However, it was agreed that considerable detail will be required in the final plans, both for the houses and the car park in the doocot field, to satisfy all the conditions, and there will be further opportunity to comment when these are submitted.

The main road at Kingask may be closed some time in December to deal with the flooding problem. More information is awaited.

Neighbourhood watch
PC Mark Anderson gave a presentation of the benefits and workings of Neighbourhood Watch Schemes. Leaflets with more information will be circulated around Boarhills households, and if more information is required, please get in touch with a member of the community council or PC Anderson direct (Tel 01334 418 745). Opinion will be canvassed over the next couple of weeks before we decide whether to go ahead. It was agreed that Dunino may be too scattered a community to reap the benefits of such a scheme, but again, if people are interested, this could be reviewed.

Date of next meeting

Monday 15 January in Boarhills Village Hall
