Minutes of the meeting held on:

Monday 7 June 2010

.

1. Apologies were received from P Duncan. Present: D Macgregor, B Simpson, M Craig, V Kilgour, L Ogilvie, J Overing, L Matthews, J Brown, P Kushner, L Roger.

2.Minutes of the April meeting were approved.

3) Matters arising: the repair of the Dunino Den footbridge. No progress has been made with A Roger’s plans for repair, and as he may be too busy to undertake this work, P Kushner has agreed to take the job on. B Simpson, B Low and P Kushner to reassess the project. LR spoke to Transportation and Core Path representatives alerting them to the fact that the bridge is no longer sound. Footpath signs have been covered over.

4) V Kilgour attended the most recent East Neuk CC meeting. Her notes have been circulated.

5) Flooding. L Matthews awaiting a response from Scottish Water as to whether the gully pots empty into the sewer or the cundy.

6) The Council are still investigating the flooding of the A917 at Fairmont and Brownhills.

7) University wind farm update. The University are organising a public meeting at the Village Hall on Tuesday 22 June. All households should receive an information leaflet about this meeting courtesy of Royal Mail. If anyone has not received this notice by 18 June, please get in touch with the University Environment Team on 01334 463 995 or e mail windpower@st-andrews.ac.uk. The most recent project board meetings have been concerned with these public meetings and preparation of material for them. R Spencer, in absentia, has asked if the minutes of these meetings could be circulated. LR to ask the University.

The University had asked if there was somewhere in the Village that they might display information about their proposals. Clearly, the current notice board is not large enough, and so the University has offered to fund a new notice board. There was some discussion as to whether we should accept this offer. It was agreed, by a majority, to accept their offer. The only alternative would be to apply to the Locality Budget, but it would take several weeks to receive a response, and the sum involved (£1500) might be outside its scope. P Kushner has offered to build the notice board, and University apprentice tradesmen could be involved in its construction. It was further agreed that the old notice board could be re-located at the Station. It is hoped that J Overing can find somewhere to put it and assist in displaying notices on it.

8) AOB: The Locality Budget is still to be approached for funding of geotextile fabric for the path next to the School. The knotweed must first be strimmed, then the regrowth sprayed, before the fabric can be laid. L Ogilvie to investigate the first two items.
A beach clean up will be organised over the next couple of months, as a large quantity of plastic has been washed up after the recent storms.
A good repair of the wall has been made at Beley Bridge.
M Craig attended the recent Neighbourhood Watch meeting. Everyone should be aware of ATM cloning, particularly at out of the way points. The next Police Community Engagement meeting for our area will be on 1 July at Largoward Hall, 7 pm.
The next meeting will be the AGM, at which the annual accounts will be presented.
