Minutes
of Meeting Monday 19 Jan 2004 at 7.30 pm, Boarhills Village Hall
Present:
J Fairbairn, K Harrison, L Roger, P Douglas, S Raeside
Apologies: B Houston
1)
Matters arising
- Joe Fairbairn has agreed to take over as Community Council Treasurer
from Barbara Houston.
- We have last year's financial allocation as yet unspent, due to
projects for which it was earmarked not yet coming to fruition.
JF to investigate alternatives with Dunino School and Boarhills
Hall.
- The likely sum required to fix the foot bridge at Dunino may run
into several £K. However, PD thought that some might be available
out of another budget.
- Following the COMMUNITY CONSULTATION, we have been asked to comment
on potential for local development, and sites that should not be
developed. Anyone with views should get in touch with the CC as
soon as possible.
- The web site is up and running. See www.boarhillsduninocc.org.uk
- The condition of the doocot has deteriorated markedly since Christmas.
However, the owners have declined all offers of financial assistance
towards its repair from the CC.
- The departure hearing for the Links Trust golf course at Kinkell
is likely to be in Boarhills within the next month. Local opinion
is generally in favour.
2) Dunino topics
There is to be a speed limit outside Dunino School, but unfortunatley
this is to be 40 mph, rather than a discretionary 20mph (during
school hours) which would be much more desirable, in view of the
number of accidents here over the years. LR to write to Derek Crowe
of Fife Council (Area Transportation manager) regarding this matter.
3)
General points
The Communities will not be getting separate bins for paper recycling,
but will have to use a centralised paper bank (eg at Safeways).
JF is to ask a Brownhills resident if they would like to come onto
the CC.
