Present: R Pegden,
L Birrell, L Roger, P Douglas, S Raeside, P Duncan, F Roger, J Christie
Apologies: J Fairbairn
1) Matters arising
F Roger reported no meeting with the Council as yet to resolve the
flooding outside Cardean. PD to contact P Milne, also on lack of
progress with road sign changes.
It appears that
we will be getting blue bins for paper recycling in April, although
not those in outlying areas. There is also a possibility of getting
communal recycling bins for plastic and cans, which could be put
at the village hall.
Mrs Wilson’s
bench was unveiled on Sunday, when over 30 people gathered to watch
Mrs Chapman, a friend and former colleague of Mrs Wilson, make a
short speech. Also present were Mrs Wilson’s brother and his
wife and their son, who were clearly moved by the occasion. Thank
you to all who contributed to the fund. A total of £75 was
collected, which meets all the costs not covered by the Community
Council. A big thank you too to Bruce Low and John Duncan for installing
it so expertly.
JF circulated a draft copy of the accounts (year end 31/3/05) showing
a closing balance of approximately £66 (some interest still
to come). The supplementary account for repair of the Dunino footbridge
remains at £850.25.
2) Dunino topics
• Haphazard landings from Skydive St Andrews continue. The
Chairman has been invited to attend a meeting of the East Neuk Community
group to discuss.
• The road surface between Bannafield and Stravithie is very
bad, with deep ruts either side.
• The bridge at Dunino is to be strenghtened.
3) Boarhills
topics
• There have been at least 3 crashes at the top of the road
in the last 6 weeks. Speed is a factor in all, and alcohol on occasion.
Secretary to contact police/council to see if warnings could be
made more effective.
• L Ogilvie has come up with lots of good suggestions for
Hall activities. She was urged to pass these on to the Hall Committee.
4) General points
The draft St Andrews Local Plan is out for consultation. There will
be a public meeting at Kilrymont on Wednesday 20th April, 7-9pm
to discuss, where all the plans for each area will be on show. There
is no land marked for development in either Boarhills or Dunino.
Date of next meeting
Monday 6 June
2005, Boarhills Village Hall, 7.30 pm
