Apologies: P Douglas, L Birrell, F Edward
1) Matters arising
Boarhills road signs. Gordon Hughes from Fife Council has promised
the removal of the Crail/Kingsbarns sign from the Stravithie Mains
junction of the B9131/Q17, the renewal of the direction signs at
the A917/Q17 junction and a new Welcome to Boarhills/No Through
Road sign next to the phone box. It was agreed that the “Welcome”
was superfluous, and earlier indication of the no through road was
required.
There was also
concern at the number of accidents at this bend. Suggestions included
beefing up the bend warning signs, a review of the camber and an
anti skid surface. The danger pedestrians were in here was a further
concern. The lack of visibility at the Peekie road end was discussed
again, and it was suggested that the high hedges at Kinglassie are
not to blame, but the field dyke does limit vision.
2) Dunino topics
The bridge at Stravithie Mill Local residents would like a speed
restriction on the diversion route along to the Grange road while
the bridge is shut.
The Lathockar- Stravithie road. P Douglas has asked for lay bys
to be constructed at suitable points.
3) Boarhills
Village Hall issues
None
4) AOB
It was agreed to continue with the web site for another 2 years,
at a cost of £33 to retain the domain name. If anyone has
anything they want to put on the web site, please get in touch with
the secretary.
Review of Electoral
Wards. It was unanimously agreed that our community’s interests
would be better represented by staying in the East Neuk electoral
ward, rather than moving to within the St Andrews ward.
5) Date of next
meeting
To be confirmed, early December.
