1) Matters arising
A site for the memorial bench for Mrs Wilson has now been found,
and F Gamwell has quoted £250 to make a high quality oak bench.
J Fairbairn outlined the current financial position of the Community
Council, having recently filed our annual accounts with the Council
In anticipation that we will receive this year’s allocation,
it was decided to go ahead with the bench. An inscription to go
on the bench is still to be decided – anyone with any suggestions
should contact the CC as soon as possible. The other major items
of expenditure this year were £200 towards the Dunino School
green house and £150 towards the new car parking area of Boarhills
Village Hall.
Thanks are due
to those involved in the construction of the car park, which is
a great improvement.
We still have
£846 in the “Millennium Account” which was allocated
toward the repair of the foot bridge at Dunino, but is unspent because
an additional sum is required to meet the full cost of this work.
2) Dunino topics
There are several planning applications in the pipeline. P Douglas
indicated that recent Scottish Executive guidelines as regards new
housing in the countryside had softened somewhat. However, Elspeth
Cook, Principal Planner, Fife Council Development Services has since
confirmed that this refers to future structure and local plans,
and that the current rules to which Fife Council work to have not
changed yet. The Scottish Executive paper is SPP3. See www.scotland.gov.uk/library5/planning/spp3-00.asp
Paragraphs 48-53 refer.
Broad band coverage across the whole of the area covered by our
exchange may be patchy.
3) Boarhills
topics
There will be an autumn beach clean up. Date to be confirmed.
Signage of Boarhills is not very good. There is no actual Boarhills
sign, and signs in the vicinity frequently omit Boarhills (shortly
to be twinned with Brigadoon). P douglas to ask P Milne to contact
L Roger on this matter.
4) Community
Council elections.
The following have been appointed to the CC: S Raeside, K Harrison,
R Pegden, L Roger. J Fairbairn will be co-opted on. Anyone else
who wishes to serve on the CC is urged to get in touch.
Date
of inaugural meeting of the new Community Council is Monday 25 October
at 7.30 pm, Boarhills Village Hall
